⚙Things Done Well⚙ Volume 25 - My 3 Favourite FREE Tools and Big Things Afoot at Alignment Ops!

Published 2 months ago • 3 min read

Hello Reader, ✨It's time to get nerdy together!✨

But, first things first:

  1. Listen to this song! Enough by Amahla. Oooh yes. Her voice, the arrangement. So good. Put it on now. Then listen to the rest of the music in this playlist!
  2. Use your voice to call for a ceasefire in Gaza. This is a great tool from LeadNow for Canadians to use to call their MPs. They provide a script and will connect you by phone directly to your MP once you fill out the form in the link. Do it today, and then everyday until there is a ceasefire.
  3. Support the Vancouver Black Therapy & Advocacy Foundation. If you benefit from the imbalance of power and money in our society, I encourage you to invest in reparations by supporting mental health services supporting black people in your community (ideally services that are founded and run by black people!). If you live in Vancouver, I suggest VBT&AF, they are a non-profit organization connecting Black community members in need to mental health resources such as free therapy and advocacy services.
  4. Want to level up the technology and related skills of your team? Let's connect to see if we can use this training grant to work together!

Now on to the FREE STUFF!

After nearly 10 years researching software for my clients, these 3 FREE business management tools have come out on top as the absolutely best "free forever" tools the market has to offer. FYI - Some of the below are affiliate links to give you access to any of my available referral discounts should you decide to upgrade.

Monday.com - FREE PRO-VERSION FOR NON-PROFITS

This is by far the best non-profit offer I have seen in a very long time! Usually there are a bunch of missing features and unnecessary limitations on free software offered to non-profits, but not for Monday!

All of the features available in the Pro version are absolutely free for up to 10 users and any seats past 10 are available at a 70% discount!!! So you get a pro-version seat for less than the cost of the basic plan and spread across all the seats the overall cost stays super affordable!

ClickUp - Free for UNLIMITED USERS!

The free ClickUp is also very good!

Are there limitations, 100% yes. BUT you can do pretty much everything you need a project management tool to do on the free plan. There are even automations included! And useful ones too. I used the free version for a good long time before upgrading to get the workload view.

Hubspot Free Tools!

A little bit of sales, a little bit of marketing, and even a little bit of customer support tools! Everything you need to manage your marketing and engagement, build a profile for all of your stakeholders, respond to in-bound requests, and manage your opportunities.

Again, there are limitations to what you get in the free toolset, for instance external automations like drip campaigns or communications sequences come at a cost AND it can start getting expensive if your list is particularly large. BUT what is included in the free tools is better than any other free CRM product I have seen.

ALSO, Hubspot now offers a 40% discount on their Pro and Enterprise hubs! (Is it still expensive, yes. Is it worth it? If you can afford it, yes. Hubspot offers a best in class all-in-one sales, service, and marketing platform.)

Honourable Mention - Keela Starter

Keela Starter is a FREE Donation Processing Tool that allows nonprofits to take advantage of the core features of Keela that will help you to improve your fundraising and bring in more donations. On the Keela starter package you have access to donation forms, automatic tax receipts, and centralized donor database of up to 250 records.

Which leads me to my BIG THINGS!

I have recently expanded my shop and I now have an implementation team that can support and train your organisation to adopt and fully leverage these tools (and more) for your organization!

We have been working on developing the templates, structures, workflows, integrations, and automations in ALL of these platforms that you need to ensure a smooth and successful implementation.

Let us be your experts on call!

If you are interested in exploring how these free tools can help you just fill out this form to get the ball rolling! I look forward to helping you to do what you do, BETTER!

Until next time, take care.

R*

Hello Reader, ✨It's nerd party time!!✨ But, first things first: Find a Palestinian solidarity encampment in your area and give them the money or supplies they need to help them stay the course!! I feel so hopeful that the tide is turning. Support the Freedom Flotilla however you can. This civilian led flotilla has 3 boats, hundreds of civilian volunteers from all over the world, and over 5000 tonnes of aid for the people of Gaza. They have been blocked at every turn and are currently stuck in...
